Our Story

From Nilgiris to Your Home

The Nilgiris — the Blue Mountains of Tamil Nadu — grow things the plains cannot. Two thousand metres up, in cool air and thin sunlight, pepper vines take their time, cardamom pods fill out slowly, carrots and beans sweeten instead of racing to size. It is some of the best produce in India.

Almost none of it reaches an Indian home tasting the way it did on the hill. It goes down the ghat road to a wholesale market, sits in storage, gets graded, blended, repacked, resold. By the time it lands on a shelf in Bengaluru or Delhi, weeks have passed and half the flavour is gone — and the farmer has seen a fraction of what you paid.

SpiceCado exists to cut out that road. We buy directly from Nilgiris growers, estates and small hill-town makers, pack in the hills, and ship straight to your door. One hop. Nothing sitting in a warehouse waiting for a buyer.

What we stand for

  • A fair price up the hill. We pay growers directly and we tell them what we sell for. A supply chain no one is ashamed to explain is the only kind worth building.
  • Whole, unadulterated goods. Spices ground from whole pods and berries, never bulked out. Fruit and vegetables graded by hand. Chocolate and biscuits from makers we have met.
  • Packed after you order. Freshness is a schedule, not a slogan. Your box is filled the day it ships.
  • Say it plainly. Real harvest dates, real weights, real delivery windows. If something is out of season, we say so instead of substituting it.
